The 22,000 hectares of pristine private wilderness stretches either side of the Great Fish River which meanders for 30 kilometres through scenic landscape and comprises just thirty rooms split across six very individual and distinct safari lodges, camp and villas, affording it one of the highest land-to-guest ratios in South Africa.

Couples can enjoy the tranquility that Great Fish River Lodge and Ecca Lodge offer, where stand-alone suites are privately located away from each other as well as central guest areas.
At Galpin Tented Camp, four eco-friendly tents are designed to inspire connections with the natural world and are perfect for couples and groups to share quality time, undisturbed by the outside world.
Families of up to four can enjoy the flexibility that a Family Suite at Ecca Lodge offers, complete with a private safari vehicle. Alternatively families or small groups of friends can choose to enjoy an entirely intimate and exclusive safari experience at one of Kwandwe’s three gracious sole-use safari villas, Fort House, Uplands Homestead and Melton Manor.
Melton Manor is a private space that inspires the sharing of meals, laughter and experiences around the farmhouse table. Grand views of the Afromontane forests are complemented by the sophisticated, contemporary simplicity of Melton Manor.

Ecca Lodge
Set in the heart of the Private Reserve in thick vegetation overlooking a dense valley, Ecca Lodge offers breathtaking views onto an escarpment of steep shale cliffs. With only 6 suites, of which 3 are dedicated to families, the lodge is intimate, relaxed and trendy, with decor inspired by the vibrant colours and textures of the African people. Highlights of the guest areas include expansive wooden viewing decks with exceptional views, open interactive kitchen and a rim-flow lap pool.
The African wilderness of which childhood dreams are made is found at Uplands Homestead. An intimate private safari home imbued with old-world romance, the remote location offers complete tranquility for up to six guests. Built in the early 1900’s, the original farmhouse has been lovingly restored to ensure its charm, warmth and character shine through!
Three suites with private verandas and en-suite bathrooms combine modern comfort with old-fashioned luxury.
Galpin Tented Camp
Set in a lush valley in the remote southern part of the reserve, Galpin gazes east toward Galpin Dam. The four tents are raised on stilts and offer beautiful views across the terrain. Designed to be immersed in nature, the quiet, calm setting allows your spirit to drift in time with the rhythms of the wilderness and provides a genuine escape from the trappings of the modern world.
Striking the balance between comfort and adventure, the well-appointed tents provide an ideal setting for our Into the Wild four-night experience. Each tent has a shady outdoor veranda for afternoon wildlife-watching and indoor and outdoor solar showers.
